Jerry Temples Sr.

Funeral services for Jerry Douglas Temples Sr., 57, of Donalsonville, will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville, Ga., with the Rev. Milton Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery, with Bobby H. Black, Harold Crosson, Ken Holt, Grover Kelley, Stan Kennedy,
Roy Rogers, Steve Bailey and Tony Miller serving as active pallbearers.
Born on Feb. 2, 1952, in Donalsonville, Mr. Temples died on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Temples graduated from Seminole County High School in 1971 and then served his country in the U.S. Army, during which time he served as a military police officer. He retired from the military in 1992.
Mr. Temples had been teaching history at Bainbridge High School for the past 12 years. He was a member of Seminole Masonic Lodge No. 83, as well as an active member of Oakview Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Jonnie Temples of Donalsonville; three sons, Jerry Douglas Temples Jr. and Johnnie Ray Temples, both of Bainbridge, and Charles Nicolas “Nicky” Temples of Donalsonville; a brother, Billy Temples of Bainbridge; and two sisters, JoAnn Temples and Glenda Temples, both of Donalsonville; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
