Certified tennis professional Justin Gravlee and Clayton Powell are teaching 6-to-14-year-old boys and girls the basic fundamentals of the game this week at the Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA.

The youngsters are attending the annual YMCA Tennis Camp at the Cass Kirbo Tennis Center. A group of around 20 youths attend the camp each day.

“We want everyone who comes to this or any other camp we have to learn something that will improve their tennis skills and have a little fun,” Gravlee said.

During the camp, which began Monday and will conclude Thursday, youngsters are learning the proper way to serve, convert ground strokes, come to the net for a return and execute other fundamental aspects of the game.

The campers are also taking part in tennis instruction drills and games.
