Young Bainbridge High School Marching Bearcat Band members work Tuesday during the opening day of camp for first year and freshmen band members. They are working on their practice field surrounded by the outdoor running track on the new Bainbridge High School campus. Also beginning camp on Monday were the bands dance line and color guard units. Camp will last through Friday. Full band camp will be the weeks of July 20 through 23 and July 27 through 30 with sessions from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Parents and friends night will be Thursday, July 30. Prior to the first day of school on Friday, August 7, the band will have two important rehearsals, Tuesday, August 4 and Thursday, August 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Their first football halftime performance will be Saturday, August 22 when the Bearcats open their season against the Cairo High School Syrupmakers at Cairo’s West Thomas Stadium.
