Funeral services for Thomas Joe Sheren, 76, of Donalsonville, Ga., will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating.

Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Jim Anderson, Shaun Anderson, Jim Prine, Dale Kramer, Clayton Pitts and Charlie Anderson serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

Born in Vincennes, Ind., on Aug. 10, 1932, Mr. Sheren died on Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Nolan Hospital inside the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.

Mr. Sheren served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a cattle rancher and dozier operator. Mr. Sheren was a member of Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel Cook Sheren of Donalsonville; two daughters, Debbie Anderson of Donalsonville and Darlene Allen of Mount Dora, Fla.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
