Funeral services for Morrell H. (Cole) Donalson, 72, of Bainbridge, will be held Thursday, July 2, at 5 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Chaplain Dewitt Phillips and the Rev. Earl Clark officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Tommy Daniels, Nick Lozich, Gene Dunlap, Randy Dunlap, Steve Davis, Calvin Lockey and Chuck Lockey serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 2, from 4 to 4:45 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, prior to the funeral service.

Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Ashford, Ala., Mrs. Donalson died on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. She served with the U.S. Army and was a homemaker. Mrs. Donalson was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 519 and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Donalson was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Robert Cole.

Survivors include her husband, Jim H. Donalson; her son, Robert II of Dothan, Ala.; her daughter, Theresa Harper of Cottonwood, Ala.; her step-son, Keith Donalson of Baytown, Texas; her step-daughter, Lisa Hodges of Claxton, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her loving companion, Tiny, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
