Funeral services for Christine Williams King, 92, of Miller County were held Monday, June 29, at Springfield Baptist Church in Jakin, Ga., with Dr. Johnny Roberts and the Rev. Fred Odom officiating.
Interment followed in the church’s cemetery with George Easom, Donald Hand, Rick Easom, Greg Easom, Stephen Dunning and Ronald Brunei serving as active pallbearers.
Born Nov. 6, 1916, in Eufaula, Ala., Mrs. King died on Friday, June 26, 2009, at Miller County Nursing Home.
Mrs. King was the oldest living member of Springfield Baptist Church, having become a member in 1944. She was active in teaching Sunday School until she was 80 years old and was an active church committee member.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Elmer Easom and Henry King; two sisters, Edna Cameron and Belle Wood; and three brothers, Ellis Williams, Fletcher Williams and Chalker Williams.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Easom Johnson of Donalsonville, Ga.; a sister, Eudene Bowen of Donalsonville, and two grandchildren.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
