Funeral services for Herbert “Hub” Williams, 80, of Tallahassee, Fla., were Friday, June 19, at First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, Ga., with Ron McCaskill and Calvin Arnold officiating.
Interment followed at Friendship Memorial Gardens with Gordon Moulton, Charles Moulton, Kim Williams, Dr. Calvin Arnold, Kenneth Arnold and Ron Arnold serving as active pallbearers.
Born June 13, 1929, in Colquitt, Ga., Mr. Williams died on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Eden Springs Nursing Home in Crawfordville, Fla.
Mr. Williams was a member of Seminole Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Fla. He worked as a meat cutter for a number of years as well as a courier for Pony Express. Mr. Williams served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Rubye Rachel, Dixie Cross, Mildred Sharber, Evelyn Futch and Alene Dekle; two brothers, Milton “Buddy” Williams and Chester “Totsie” Williams; and one grandson, Jed Gilbert Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Patricia Cheshire Williams of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sons, Ted Williams of Ashville, N.C., and Kyle Williams of Tampa Fla.; two daughters, Pam Gartner of Poulsbo, Wash., and Leah Williams of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Gwen Moulton of Donalsonville; and five grandchildren.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
