Funeral services for Deacon Arthur Lee Perkins Sr., 58, of Bainbridge, will be held today, June 20, at 11 a.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. David L. Gosha officiating.

Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery with Bernard Jackson, Odell Washington, Jerrial Jackson, Jerry Mitchell, Leroy Murphy, Anthony Monroe and Lewis Peterson serving as active pallbearers.

Born June 8, 1951, in Decatur County, Mr. Perkins died on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Perkins was retired and was an active member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He was manager of The Spiritual Wonders.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kaye Perkins; three sons, Arthur Perkins Jr., Terrence Perkins and Bradley Snell; four daughters, Regina Akins, Shani Scott, Ingrid Perkins and Dawn Smith; seven siblings and 13 grandchildren.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
