Ralph Bowen

A memorial service for Ralph E. Bowman, 86, of Sarasota, Fla., will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Whitfield Christian Church in Sarasota.
Born Aug. 25, 1922, in Canton, Ohio, Mr. Bowman died on Friday, June 12, in Tallahassee, Fla.
Mr. Bowman was a long time resident of Bradenton, Fla. He was employed by the Manatee County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office, and also worked for Wackenhut Security for a number of years. Mr. Bowman served in the U.S. Marines and was a veteran of World War II; he was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion, was active in his church and was also a Mason, Shriner and member of the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rose Marie; a son, Brad, of Crawfordville, Fla.; one daughter, Dawn, of Bainbridge; one sister, June of California; a half-brother, Jerry of Canton, Ohio; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Fla., was in charge of funeral arrangements.
