Bainbridge anglers Jim Merritt and Cary Dollar pulled in a five-fish limit weighing 23.6 pounds last Saturday to win the Rental Service Corp. (RSC) Bass Tournament on Lake Seminole.
During weigh-in ceremonies at the Earle May Boat Basin, Merritt and Dollar said they caught their biggest fish, which weighed 6.47 pounds, on a spinner bait, and they caught their other four on trick worms while Carolina rigging.
“We caught all our fish in the main lake at various times throughout the day.” Merritt said. “We had to cull some fish.”
Merritt and Dollar earned a $1,500 check for their winning catch.
Two other Bainbridge two-man teams were among the top five tournament finishers.
Taking second place in the 72-boat tournament field with a five-fish limit, tipping the scales at 23.5 pounds, was the Albany father and son team of Jackie and Brad Hambrick.
Third place was captured by another Bainbridge team, Kyle Henderson and Brian Key, with a five-fish limit weighing 23.04 pounds. Their big fish tipped the scales at 6.28 pounds.
Kell Boyett and Dennis Weaver of Bainbridge took fifth in the tournament with a five-fish limit weighing 21.64 pounds.
