Classie Henry

Funeral services for Mrs. Classie L. Henry, 80, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held Sunday, June 14, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis Henry officiating.
Interment followed at the Church Cemetery with Jamol Henry, Edward Linton, William Flagler Jr., Tommy Henry Jr., Jamiel Peterson and Christopher Melton serving as active pallbearers.
Born May 24, 1929, in Donalsonville, Ga., Mrs. Henry died June 4, 2009, at the Donalsonville Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Henry was a member of Galilee M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnny Henry; a son, Elder John E. Henry; a sister, Clissie Washington; and three brothers, Ulysee Parks, Wiley Parks and J.B. Parks.
She is survived by five sons, Lewis Henry of Rochester, N.Y., Jimmy Handsford of Syracuse, N.Y., Richard Henry of Donalsonville, Tommy Henry of Gordon, Ala., and Sheldon Henry of Blountstown, Fla.; five daughters, Jeanette Barr of Ozark, Ala., Shirley Melton of Bainbridge, Hattie Flagler and Brenda Peterson, both of Donalsonville, and Lorine Cumbee of Andrew, S.C.; three brothers, E.C. Parks and John Parks, both of Donalsonville, and Prophet Parks of Bainbridge; two sisters, Emma Henry and Ruth Mae Henry, both of Bainbridge; 32 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
