Funeral services for Mary Alice Lanier Pittman, 83, of Bainbridge will be held Saturday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow at Blakely City Cemetery.

Born July 20, 1925, in Early County, Ga., Mrs. Lanier died on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. She was a graduate of Damascus High School, attended Georgia Southwestern College and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances L. Billings and Catherine L. Clark; her brother, Carl Hamilton Lanier Jr., and a grandson, Joseph Ashley Pittman.

Survivors include her husband, Willis R. Pittman of Bainbridge; her daughter, Jennifer Pittman of Bainbridge; her son, Robert L. Pittman of Jacksonville, Fla., and four grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
