Funeral services for Henry David King, 67, of Jakin, Ga., will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Jakin with the Rev. Fred Odom officiating.
Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, Ga., with Lavon Chandler, Johnny Creel, Dick Howard, Harold King, Kenny King and Rick Moulton serving as active pallbearers.
Born in Donalsonville on March 1, 1942, Mr. King died on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.
Mr. King worked as a maintenance foreman for Georgia Pacific for 41 years. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Before and after retirement, he enjoyed working at his sawmill behind his home and took great pride in building his home using wood that he cut at his sawmill.
Survivors include his wife, Sonya King of Jakin, Ga.; two daughters, Sherrie McMullen of Donalsonville and Teresa Cosby of Headland, Ala.; one sister, Linda Godby of Donalsonville; two step-children, Bridget Henderson Chelsea, Okla., and Ray Busch of New Orleans, La.; two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
