Terry Haire

Funeral services for Terry Haire, 64, of Attapulgus, were held Sunday, May 31, at Bainbridge Church of God with the Revs. Ray Dawson and Phillip Kirkland officiating.
Interment followed at Attapulgus Cemetery with Wayne Bennett, Dale Dawson, Steve Dawson, Greg Harrell, Scott Haire and Randall Haire serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Curtis McCorkel, Jackie Godwin, Jacky Jackson, Charles Baggett and the men of the Bainbridge Church of God.
Born Feb. 9, 1945, in Colquitt, Ga., Mr. Haire died on Friday, May 29, 2009, at his residence. He was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, Class of 1964, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Haire retired from BASF Corp. (formerly Engelhard Corp.) with more than 44 years of service, and he served on Attapulgus City Council from 1976 to 1980 and attended Bainbridge Church of God.
Mr. Haire was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Dawson, and his grandson, Chase Wynn.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Hilda Dawson Haire of Attapulgus; two sons, Brent Haire of Bainbridge and Neal Haire of Climax; his daughter, Dana Wynn of Climax; three brothers, Robert Haire of Powder Springs, Ga., Wayne Haire of Bainbridge, and Tommy Haire of Quincy, Fla.; his sister, Sherry Phillips of Tallahassee, Fla.; and a granddaughter.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
