Funeral services for Ruby Lois “Walden” Lowe, 77, of Bainbridge, were held Thursday, May 28, in the Young Memorial Chapel at Bruton Mortuary in Bainbridge with the Rev. Kenneth M. Fleming officiating.

Interment followed in Conyers Cemetery with friends of the family serving as active pallbearers.

Born Feb. 28, 1932, in the Vada community of Decatur County, Mrs. Lowe died May 21, 2009, at Pinewood Nursing Center in Whigham, Ga.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Lowe worked as a hotel employee and lived in the cities of Panama City, Fla., Albany, Ga., and Detroit, Mich. She attended Mitchell County public schools.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Delois Love-Gibson; five sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include a sister, Betty Snell of Amityville, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a loving son-in-law, Johnny Bernard Gibson Sr.; a loving and special niece, Pat Rosso, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
