Funeral services for Martha D. Huey, 85, of Bainbridge, were held Monday, June 1, at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Medley and Bill Ingram officiating.

Interment followed at Oak City Cemetery with her nephews serving as active pallbearers.

Born May 27, 1924, in Mitchell County, Ga., Mrs. Huey died on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Memorial Hospital. A graduate of Pelham High School, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Huey; a daughter, Beverly Huey Sims; and a brother, Clarence R. Daughtry Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Huey Turner of Madison, Ga.; her son, Randy Huey of Bainbridge; two brothers, Harry Daughtry of Baconton, Ga., and Joe Daughtry of Pelham, Ga.; three sisters, Blanche Ingram of Tallahassee, Fla., Imogene Jones and Lula Scott, both of Pelham, Ga.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
