Lucille Fletcher

Funeral services for Lucille Howell Fletcher, 92 of Climax, were held Tuesday, June 2, at the Climax United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne McDonald officiating.

Interment followed at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Trey Fletcher, Jason Fletcher, Luke Fletcher, Billy Fletcher and Mark Fletcher serving as active pallbearers.

Born Oct. 24, 1916, in Byronville, Ga., Mrs. Fletcher died Sunday, May 31, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge

The Howell family moved to Decatur County in 1924 from Dooly County. She was an active member of Climax United Methodist Church and was a member of the WMU. She was a charter member of the Climax Community Club, the Sew and Sew Quilters and Climax Golden Agers. Mrs. Fletcher worked in Climax at Trulock Supply for 12 years and at the Bainbridge State Hospital for 10 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Malcom “Mac” Fletcher; and her siblings, Andrew Howell, Elise Beal, Jabo Howell, Nell Driver, Pete Howell and Sarah Howell.

She is survived by one daughter, Frances Aukerman and husband, Arlie of Lovejoy, Ga.; two sons, John Malcom Fletcher of Hampton, Ga., and Sam Fletcher of Climax, Ga.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
