Funeral services for Billy Macon Strickland, 72, were held Tuesday, June 2, at Heritage Assembly of God Church in Tallahassee, Fla.

Born July 7, 1936, in Bainbridge, Ga., Mr. Strickland died on May 29, 2009, at his residence.

A longtime resident of Wakulla County, Mr. Strickland was the retired owner and operator of Strickland Sandblasting and Painting. Mr. Strickland served in the National Guard for four years. He was an active leader in several churches.

Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tamara; and two brothers, Roger and Tracy.

Survivors include his wife of 54-and-a-half years, Anne; four daughters, Kathy Browning, Vicky Tobell and Kaye Ryals, all of Crawfordville, Fla., and Faye Jones of Whigham, Ga., nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers.

Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Fla., is in charge of funeral arrangements.
