The 10th annual Future Bearcat Summer Baseball Camps, presented by current Bainbridge High School Bearcat players and coaches, will be held in early June at old Bearcat Field adjacent to the Floyd Tennis Complex.
The first camp will be the June 1 and 2, fundamental camp for 7- to 14-year-olds. The cost is $50, and its includes a camp T-shirt.
Sessions will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Hitting instruction will be included in the fundamental camp.
Pitching and catching camp for 9- to 14-year-olds will be June 8 and 9 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day.
Applications and more information about the camps can be obtained by calling Bearcats head coach Scott Miller at 400-3866. Miller and coach Kevin Bearden are camp directors.
Campers should bring their own gloves, bats, cleats and other equipment. Checks should be made payable to the Bearcat Dugout Club.
Miller says the goal of the camp is to teach the youngsters the fundamentals of the game and give them a chance to meet current Bearcat players and coaches, and give them a sense of Bearcat pride.
“Campers are always very enthusiastic and eager to learn,” the Bearcats head coach. “It is a positive experience for them and us. We enjoy it every year.”
