Apalachicola needs to be dredged

My name is Kenny Lusk. I am the plant superintendent for Steward Machine here in Bainbridge, and the following comments are my views on the ACOE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) Mobile District’s project list.

The Apalachicola is where we need the dredging done, but it is not mentioned in your article (“Woodruff to get $18.7 million” that appeared in the May 16 edition of The Post-Searchlight).

If we are going to spend this kind of money, wouldn’t it only make sense to make the ACF system usable for navigation.

Why spend $1.5 million to dredge the Chattahoochee if you can’t even get a tug up there. This question really needs to be asked.

Maybe your source can give you some insight. As a taxpayer it doesn’t make any sense to me to spend $18.7 billion on something that can’t even be used for its intended purposes.

Thanks,

Kenny Lusk
