Funeral services for Ralph Lynwood “Lynn” Smith, 82, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Tuesday, May 19, at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with the Revs. Jimmy Walden and Herman Enfinger officiating.

Interment followed at Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt, Ga., with his grandsons—Mark Whittaker, Chris Whittaker, Josh Gross, Casey Gross, Doug Smith, Ronnie Smith and Doug Rankin—serving as active pallbearers.

Born Nov. 15, 1926, in Midland City, Ala., Mr. Smith died on Saturday, May 16, 2009, in Quitman, Ga.

Mr. Smith was a retired truck driver and farmer. He was a member of Unity Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Ingram Smith; six sisters, Evelyn Hobbs, Inez Benton, Geraldine Hawks, Reba Enfinger, Juanita Ingram and Christine Cross; and four brothers, John Smith, Bob Smith, Bill Smith and Duke Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Smith of Albany, Ga., and Quinn Smith of Colquitt, Ga.; two daughters, Yvonne Whittaker and Debra Gross, both of Colquitt; one brother, Russell Smith of Donalsonville; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville was in charge of funeral arrangements.
