Grace players make All-Conference

Three Bainbridge High School Lady Cougars softball players and two Cougars baseball players were named All-Panhandle Christian Conference by the Conference coaches.

All-Conference catcher Emma Heard scored 12 runs, had a 317 on-base percentage and struck out only four times in 33 at bats for coach Chad Bennett’s Lady Cougars.

Heard’s two All-Conference teammates, first baseman and pitcher Brock Bailey and first baseman and pitcher Jessica Register, had impressive statistics as well.

Bailey batted 353, had a 450 on-base percentage and struck out only six times in 34 at bats.

Register batted 531 with a 583 on-base percentage and 781 slugging percentage. She had 17 hits, one home run, one triple and three doubles. She struck out just nine times.

All-Conference selections from coach Brian Powell’s Cougars were Tyler Friday and Taylor McDonald.

The Cougars bowed out of the conference tournament in Laksley, Ala., when they lost to the homestanding Central Christian School Saints, who went on to win the tournament championship.
