Georgia will hold a four-day sales tax holiday this summer to help out with back-to-school shopping, now that Gov. Sonny Perdue has joined the legislature in supporting the idea. The sales tax holiday will be held from Thursday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 2. The sales tax exemptions will apply to certain school supplies, clothing, footwear, computers and computer-related accessories. Georgia will also hold exempt sales tax on certain energy or water efficient products between Oct. 1-4. The October exemption will apply to products costing $1,500 or less purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
