The Region 1AAAA champion Bainbridge High School Lady Cats dropped a tough, tight 2-3 match to the Glynn Academy High School Lady Red Barons from Brunswick here Friday in the Elite 8 round of the state Class AAAA tennis tournament.

Lady Cat Kylie McGlincy defeated Lady Red Baron Vanessa Vakili in 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.

Lady Cat Katie Monson was leading Lady Red Baron Christie Nunnemann at No. 1 singles when they were pulled from the court because the match had already been decided.

In the No. 3 singles match, Lady Cat Anna Wells bowed to Lady Red Baron Victoria Hollaway 0-6, 4-6.

The Lady Cats No. 1 doubles team of Caroline Rollins and Anne Reynolds bowed to the Lady Red Barons No. 1 doubles team of Erin McKeon and Kathy Mallard 2-6, 3-6.

Lady Red Barons Kassi Conley and Haley Brewer downed Lady Cats Kelsi Lambert and Malori Maxwell 6-2, 5-7, 3-6 at No. 2 doubles.
