Funeral services for Charlie Wilburn Mills Jr., 69, of Bainbridge will be Sunday, May 3, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Nipper officiating.

Interment will follow at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Officer Felix “Trey” Faircloth, Officer Kevin Todd, Lt. Bobby Ross, Sgt. Steve Singleton, Deputy Humberto Dean and D
eputy Spencer Mock serving as active pallbearers.
Visitation will take place Saturday, May 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home.

Born April 2, 1940, in Tallahassee, Fla., Mr. Mills died Thursday, April 30, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

Mr. Mills lived most of his life in Decatur County and worked as a clothing salesman for Morris Installment for 20 years. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his parents, son Roger Mills, and two brothers, Roy Mills and James Mills.

Survivors include six daughters, Rena Cosby of Abbeville, Ala., Marie Perkins, Doris Carmichael and Mary Sherrer, all of Bainbridge, Patricia Lewis of Lake City, Fla., and Charlotte Welch of Climax; three sons, Jerry Randell Mills of Columbia, Ala., Daniel Mills of Bainbridge and Charlie Mills III of Garden City, Ga.; two sisters, Mattie B. Wimberly of Bainbridge and Shirley A. Cofer of Cairo, Ga.; a brother, Willis L. Mills of Cairo; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
