Funeral services for Jay Vickers, 42, of Brinson, were held Thursday, April 30, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Scarborough officiating.

Born Sept. 30, 1966, in San Diego, Calif., Mr. Vickers died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Vickers was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1985, served in the U.S. Navy, was a loan officer and a member of Mount Gilead Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rion E. Vickers.
Survivors include his sister, Gina V. Lyons of Brinson; a niece, Nicole Lyons, and five nephews.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
