Thanks for buying raffle tickets
The seniors and our helper (our youngest volunteer) sold raffle tickets for our Mother’s Day Raffle at Wal-Mart on Easter weekend and at Kmart last weekend.
We did very well and thanks to all those who bought tickets or just gave us a donation. And a special thanks to Wal-Mart and Kmart for letting us sell in front of their stores.
We are getting closer and closer to the date of the drawing.
May 6 will be the big day and there will be at least 26 prizes given away, including a $230 Pandora bracelet from Godwin’s Jewelers.
If you haven’t gotten a ticket yet, call or come by the Senior Center. The tickets are only $3 each or two for $5. You can’t win if you haven’t bought a ticket. You need not be present to win and we will call all winners in time to pick up their prizes before Mother’s Day. Good luck to everyone.
Also remember that the date for the Big Golden Olympics is May 12 from 9:30 a.m. to lunch.
Please come out and support our seniors as we compete against Moultrie and Donalsonville senior centers.
We will be competing in the following events: Softball throw, horseshoe toss, football throw, basketball free throw, clock golf and half-mile walk.
All this will take place at Cheney Griffin Park at the tennis courts. Please come and support us. Bring your chairs and expect to have some fun and frolic, we will.
Our menu for this week subject to change is as follows:
Monday—Sloppy Joes, apple cabbage slaw, barbecue beans and fruit cobbler
Tuesday—Chicken tenders, winter mix, great northern beans, roll and fresh fruit
Wednesday—Layered enchilada, Mexican corn, tossed salad, hot cinnamon apples
