Funeral services for Janie Darsey Humphrey, 92, of Bainbridge, will be Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen L. Webb officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Kenny Hill, Bud Tillman, Gene Jones, Troupe Burney, Bill Ward, Chuck Lashley and Parks Callan serving as active pallbearers.
Born April 4, 1917, in Grady County, Ga., Mrs. Humphrey died on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at her residence.
She was a graduate of Norman Park Junior College and she was a housewife. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the First United Methodist Church and the Dewberry-Forrester Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Donalson Humphrey.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen Mitchell Bartosz of Bainbridge; three sons, Rueben Marion Humphrey, Robert Donalson Humphrey Jr. and Joel Darsey Humphrey, all of Bainbridge; her brother, John Robert Darsey of Bradenton, Fla.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
