Lucindia Chancey

Funeral services for Lucindia L. Chancey, 75, of Jakin, Ga., were held on Saturday, April 18, at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Odom officiating.

Interment followed in the church’s cemetery with Steve Dunning, Jackie Frith, Tommy Tyler, Nelson Vickery, Ronald Bruner and Vinson Evans serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Chancey was born on Feb. 6, 1934, in Jakin, Ga. She died on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at her residence.
She was an active member of Springfield Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonah Lloyd Chancey, and two sons, Larry and Ricky Chancey.
She is survived by one son, Keith Chancey of Kershaw, S.C.; three daughters, Joann Cook of Albany, Ga., Wanda McLendon and Kim Glass, both of Jakin, Ga.; one brother, Lester Love of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Naomi McDonald of Dothan, Ala.; one sister-in-law, Myrtle Chancey Grimsley of North Augusta, S.C., 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
