Funeral services for Laurine Justice Miller, 88, of Bainbridge, will be held Thursday, April 16, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home with Chaplain Dewitt Phillips officiating.

Interment will follow in Blakely Cemetery with Jerry Carter, Fred Black, Walter Landrum, Larry Funderburke, Donnie Cleveland and Dennis Mock serving as active pallbearers.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cox-Ware Funeral Home.
Born on June 24, 1920, in Houston County, Ala., Mrs. Miller died on Monday, April 13, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. Miller moved to Decatur County from Blakely, Ga. She was a member of West Bainbridge United Methodist Church. She formerly worked at the Dianna Shop for 24 years and was a crossing guard at West Bainbridge Elementary School.

Preceding her in death was her husband, R.C. Miller Jr.; a daughter, Julie Gordon Heard; four sisters, Bonnie McCuller, Maxine Cyr, Beck Mercer and Tupsie Wheaton; and a grandchild, Robbie Gordon.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Thomas of Bainbridge, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
