Since 1976, Poor Penny Carson, a ventriloquist, and his dummy, “Sweet Pea Johnson,” have been delivering the word of God across America. Carson said he and Sweet Pea are on their third trip across the continental United States, and made a stop in Bainbridge. He explained that ever since he had a profound religious experience in 1976, he has been going state to state, city to city, delivering the word of the Lord through his dummy, in hopes that people will listen.
