Funeral services for Deacon John L. Adams, 84, of Bainbridge, were held Sunday, March 8, at Adams Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. William Morris officiating.

Interment followed at Mount Tabor M.B. Church Cemetery with friends of the family serving as active pallbearers.

Born on Sept. 17, 1924, in Decatur County, Mr. Adams died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.

Preceding Mr. Adams in death was his brother, Deacon Alonzo Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pretty Pearl Adams; three sisters, Verdell Glenn of Hempstead, N.Y., Daisy Adams and Waver Mae Fountain, both of Bainbridge; a special god-daughter, Louise Close of Bainbridge, and a host of other family and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
