Jack Humphrey

Memorial services for John B. “Jack” Humphrey, 80, of Senoia, Ga., will be Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m. at the Senoia United Methodist Church.
Born on May 2, 1928, in Valdosta, Ga., Mr. Humphrey died on Monday, March 2, 2009.
Mr. Humphrey was a veteran of World War II, who served in the Philippines and was honorably discharged in 1947. During his life, he worked with the Atlantic Refining Company and also had a 52-year career as an independent sales representative for major book publishers.
A resident of Senoia, Ga., since 1955 and influential in his community, Mr. Humphrey initiated the founding of the Senoia Area Library on the board of which he served in the latter stage of his life. He was also an active member of Senoia United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julianne Blount Humphrey.
Survivors include his sons, J. Bruce Humphrey, Craig B. Humphrey, Steven M. Humphrey and Frank B. Humphrey; and 13 grandchildren.
Higgins Hillcrest Chapel in Newnan is in charge of arrangements.
