Hatton said he caught his fish on crank baits and worms in the Spring Creek area of the lake.

“On Saturday, I caught fish at various times of the day, but I didn’t catch my first one until around 10 a.m. and I caught my last one around 2 p.m.

Sunday’s big fish, which tipped the scales at 7.419 pounds, was caught by Kenneth Sapp of Claxton, Ga.

On the Rose City team with Hatton, Culverson and Alderman were Daryl and Christopher Davis of Ochlocknee and 16-year-old Jeffery Graves of Moultrie, Ga.
