Isaias Medrano and Tymere Chrispen were delighted to hear of their high marks on a recent fractions activity in Jan Payne’s class at West Bainbridge Elementary School. They determined how many M&M’s were in one whole bag, used that number for their denominator, then wrote fractions for each color of M&M’s in the bag. Next, the boys combined colors and wrote numbers for the combined fractions. Last, they reduced the fractions. It was a fun learning activity with sweet success.
