Senior students from the Thomas University Social Work Division are now conducting a book drive to benefit area children. The Book-A-Thon began for the purpose of collecting new and slightly used books for children in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, ages 4 to 10 years old. Donated books will be distributed to local shelters, after-school programs, day care centers, doctors’ offices and other community organizations. Donation bins have been placed at various locations on Thomas University’s campus, and at several local businesses, including Health Products & Yogurt Too, RX Drug Center, Farm Bureau, Griffin Appliance Sales and Service, and Park Avenue Bank. Books will be collected until Monday, March 9. For more information, e-mail TU Social Work student Adreane McNeil at adreane.mcneil@hotmail.com.
