Mary Cumbie

Graveside services for Mary Helen Maxwell Cumbie, 63, of Climax, Ga., will be Thursday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Daniel Garnett and Benny Cumbie officiating.
Kenneth Quigg, Ray Quigg, William Maxwell, David Maxwell, Terry Maxwell, Allen Maxwell, Roger Maxwell, Ronnie Maxwell, Ricky Maxwell and Rodney Maxwell will serve as pallbearers.
Born on March 27, 1945, in Grady County, Ga., Mrs. Cumbie died on March 2, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Cumbie lived 42 years in Albany, Ga., before moving to Climax three years ago. She was a clerk for the City of Albany and Mitchell EMC. She graduated from Climax High School. She formerly taught Sunday School and kept the nursery as well as served on the hostess committee for Beacon Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Joe Cumbie of Climax; two sons, Shane Cumbie of Baconton, Ga., and Joey Cumbie of Rome, Ga.; two sisters, Carolyn Thomas of Climax, Ga., and Ann Quigg of Thomasville, Ga.; two brothers, Wayne Maxwell of Attapulgus, Ga., and Harold Maxwell of the Vada Community; and seven grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of services.
