Funeral services for Mary Jo Martin, 79, of Bainbridge, were held Sunday, Feb. 22, at Black Jack Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Beauchamp officiating.
Interment followed at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery with Ken Dollar, Jeff Tillery, Wesley Tillery, Ray Newsome, Joe Newsome, Harry James Newsome, Gene Newsome and James Wheeler serving as active pallbearers.
Born July 29, 1929 in Plant City, Fla., Mrs. Martin died on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at her residence.
She was a homemaker and worked the family farm with her husband. She was a member of Black Jack Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as a Youth For Christ leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Martin, and a daughter, Gail Martin.
Survivors include two sons, Randal Martin of Leesburg, Ga., and Ronnie Martin of Bainbridge, Ga.; her daughter, Sue M. Tillery of Bainbridge, Ga.; a brother, Forrest Booth of St. Petersburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
