Some Sunday afternoon jazz

What better way than to lighten up a dreary, rainy Sunday afternoon than some toe-tapping, up-lifting jazz. The Florida State University jazz ensemble led by Leon Anderson did just that last at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center’s auditorium. Twenty-one FSU graduate music students performed for almost two hours as part of an Artsfest-sponsored program. Some of the songs performed were original scores written or arranged by some of the students. Others were songs written or influenced by such jazz greats as George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Count Basie or Thad Jones.
