Funeral services for Mary Lou Brooks, 83, of Donalsonville, Ga., will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at Unity Church of God with the Revs. Ray Dawson, Jimmy Walden and Milton Pate officiating.
Interment will follow in the Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Charles Musgrove, Carl Scott, Lee Conoly, Grady Jarvis, David Jarvis and Ricky Smith serving as pallbearers.
Born in Seminole County on Oct. 28, 1925, Mrs. Brooks died at her residence on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of the Unity Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellie J. Brooks; two sisters, Irene Smith and Ada Lee Gibson; and a brother, J.L. Gibson.
She is survived by two sons, Travis Brooks and Steven Brooks, both of Donalsonville; a daughter, Louell Miner of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Buddy Gibson of Bainbridge; three sisters, Myrtle McCullough of Aiken, S.C., Juree Jarvis of Donalsonville and Louise Sinniger of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of arrangements.
