Funeral services for Roland Roy Culverson, 68, of Whigham, Ga., will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Parker officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
Memorial donations, in his memory, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 W. Water St., Bainbridge, GA 39817 or to Wiregrass Hospice, 432 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819.
Born on Oct. 26, 1940, in Bainbridge, Mr. Culverson died on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
Mr. Culverson was a heavy equipment operator and master mechanic for International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 926. He was of the Baptist faith, a former Mason and an avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Culverson.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Culverson of Whigham, Ga.; three sons, Roy Culverson and Ronnie Culverson, both of Snellville, Ga., and Randall Grubbs of Colquitt, Ga.; a daughter, Marilyn Culverson of Roswell, Ga.; a stepson, Rick Bland of Whigham; four stepdaughters, Brenda Anvar of Climax, Gail Thomas, Laura Lashley and Tammie Moore, all of Bainbridge; three brothers, Marvin Culverson of Havana, Fla., D.L. Culverson of Bainbridge and Rodger Culverson of Lake Butler, Fla.; two sisters, Joan Brock and Bonnie Lee Campbell, both of Bainbridge, Ga.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
