John Johnson’s “Good Grades Celebration” is an annual event that recognizes all students earning a spot on the A or A/B honor roll for the first semester. John Johnson is very unique because of its large number of students not speaking English. This special activity recognizes all students, including those with limited English and those receiving special education services. During the celebration, students maintaining appropriate averages in all classes, along with two guests, are treated to a hotdog dinner with all the trimmings and a night full of bingo games and prizes. Not only are the students treated to dinner out, games and prizes, but each of them receive a certificate that documents their successes and encourages them to continue to work hard.
