Funeral services for Ruth Brown, 84, of Jakin, formerly of Donalsonville, Ga., will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating.
Interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Garden in Donalsonville.
Visitation will be held one hour before the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born in Miller County on Nov. 20, 1924. She died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Brown worked as a bank employee at Merchants and Farmers Bank in Donalsonville for more than 34 years, and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. After moving to Jakin, she attended Springfield Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.G. Brown.
She is survived by two daughters, Margie Johnson of Powell, Tenn., and Jean Miller of Jakin.; two sons, Joe Brown of Albany, Ga., and Ronny Brown of Donalsonville; a foster child, Hubert Touchton of Donalsonville; a brother, Lester Heard of Thomaston, Ga.; two sisters, Ester Sheffield and Carolyn Runnels, both of Bartow, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
