Funeral services for Idella Stewart Watson, 83, of DeLand, Fla., formerly of Bainbridge, were held on Friday, Feb. 6, at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe L. Sweet Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in the church’s cemetery with family and friends serving as active pallbearers.
Born Feb. 23, 1925, in Decatur County, Mrs. Watson died on Feb. 1, 2009, in DeLand, Fla.
Mrs. Watson attended public schools in Decatur County and was a member of Mount Tabor M.B. Church before moving to DeLand, Fla.
Survivors include seven sons, Lonnie Watson and Thomas Watson, both of Bainbridge, Stephen Watson of Tallahassee, Fla., Roosevelt Watson of Lake Helen, Fla., Solomon Watson of Houston Texas, Fredrick Watson of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Donnell Watson of Live Oak, Fla.; two daughters, Ida Gaskins of DeLand, Fla., and Queen Johnson of Bainbridge; a sister, Ollie Mae Pledge of Fort Myers, Fla.; 70 or more grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
