Funeral services for Charlie Perry, 76, of Bainbridge, were held Monday, Feb. 16, at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Henry L. Flowers III officiating.

Interment followed at Jonas Lobe Cemetery with Jerry Davis, Jackie Tinson, Ben Ziegler Sr., Garel Smart, Ben Ziegler Jr. and Tony Ziegler serving as active pallbearers.

Born on Oct. 17, 1932, Mr. Perry died on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009.

He attended Decatur County public schools and was retired from the City of Bainbridge, where he worked for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice May Gardner; a brother, Raymond Perry Jr.; two sisters, Gretel Perry Davis and Lillie Perry Williams; and a daughter, Charlie May Washington.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Green Perry; five daughters, Mary Knight, Alice May Perry, Lisa Johnson, Debra Ziegler and Debra Perry; six stepchildren, Betty Dismuke, Ben Ziegler, Steve Ziegler, Otha Lee Ziegler, Tony Ziegler and Michael Hutchins; a sister, Mary L. Perry Jackson; and a host of other family and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
