Barbara Gayle Jacob, 56, of Whigham, Ga., died on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Her family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.

Ms. Jacob was born Aug. 20, 1952, in New Orleans, La. She was a U.S. Army veteran, and had been employed with Bainbridge Public Safety for many years. Later, she was a dispatcher for Grady County EMC for seven years until her early retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William “Billy” Jacob.

Survivors include a sister, Beth Gardner of Climax; two nieces, two aunts, an uncle, many great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
