Funeral services for Perry W. Sanders, 73, of Bainbridge, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Port City Church of God with the Revs. Mylan Brookins, Joel Hudgins and Henry Rutledge officiating.

Interment will follow with at Notchaway Baptist Church Cemetery in Baker County, Ga., with Ronnie Lightsey, Reese Rollins, Blake Martin, Bobby Davis, Phillip Martin, Derick Creekmore and Shane Gay serving as pallbearers.

Born March 9, 1935, in Baker County, Ga., Mr. Sanders died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at his residence with his family by his side.

Sanders was retired with more than 30 years of service with Winn-Dixie and was the owner/operator of Sanders Floor Cleaning Service. His faith was Pentecostal.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Sanders, and a sister, Dorothy Sanders.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Calista Glass Sanders of Bainbridge; two sons, Bobby Ward Sanders of Colquitt, Ga., and Billy Ray Sanders of Bainbridge; three daughters, Becky Maestas of Climax, Charlene Sanders of Cairo, Ga., and Debbie Creekmore of Dothan, Ala.; a brother, Horace Sanders of Reynoldsville, Ga.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his loving bird, Tigi.
