Beulah Cox

Funeral services for Beulah Louise Gainous Cox, 89, will be Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m., at the Whigham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Greene officiating.

Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Benny Prince, Martin Prince, R.B. Gainous, Jimmy Cox, Jet Cox, Robbie Palmer, Howard Newberry and Bobby Palmer serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, at Clark Funeral Home in Cairo.

Born in Cairo, Ga., on Aug. 21, 1919, Mrs. Cox died on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge. Mrs. Cox was a teacher’s aide for the Grady County Board of Education until her retirement. She was a member of the Golden Glow Club of Whigham and the Wayside Community Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cleon Cox.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Emmett “Sonny” and Raynell Cox of Whigham, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, June C. and David C. “Butch” Mosely of Climax, Ga.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
