Lashley crowned Grace queen

Meaghan Lashley, senior daughter of Stacey Lashley of Bainbridge and Beth Slaughter of Lynn Haven, Fla., is the 2008-2009 Grace Christian Academy homecoming queen.

She was crowned by Grace school board member Erwin Harrell during halftime of the Grace Cougars homecoming game with the Northside Methodist Academy Knights from Dothan, Ala., last Thursday at Perry Memorial Gymnasium.

The Cougars, who were led by Trea Kelly and Anthony Henderson with 16 points apiece, dropped a tight 54-49 decision to the Knights.

In the girls’ homecoming game, the Lady Knights got by the Lady Cougars 45-34. The Lady Cougars were led by Logan Worsham with 12 and Brock Bailey with 10.

The homecoming queen Miss Lashley has been in the honor society since the eighth grade. She enjoys horseback riding, barrel racing and going to the beach. Her favorite subject is accounting, and she enjoys just being with family and friends.

Other senior homecoming attendants were Tatiana Whigham, daughter of Allen and Diane Whigham of Brinson, and Ashley Arthur, daughter of Trent and Tina Arthur of Faceville.

Junior attendant Lauraleigh Andrews is the daughter of Michael Andrews and Kimberly Newberry of Iron City.

Sophomore attendant Logan Worsham is the daughter of Wayne and Becky Worsham of Donalsonville, and freshman attendant Stephanie Mills is the daughter of Todd and Kim Mills of Bainbridge.
