YMCA basketball in full swing

Youth basketball leagues are in full swing at the Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA.
In the 8- and under game on Monday, Jan. 19, the Frogs, led by Jaylen Taylor with 10 points, defeated the Huskies 20-8. Pacing the Huskies’ attack was Cole Hinson with 8.
The 12- and under game was a squeakier as the Longhorns edged the Jayhawks 45-44. Leading the way for their respective teams were Longhorn Alan Close with 20 and Jayhawk Edward Bailey with 16. Cameron Richardson scored the winning basket with 20 seconds left, and Miles Thomas’ last-second shot was in and out.
In the 12- and under game, the Wildcats, led by Mario Jackson with 20 points, defeated the Buffaloes, led by Nelson Taylor, with 16 points.
Games continued Tuesday, Jan. 20, with the Hawkeyes edging the Racers 20-19. Leading scorers were Hawkeye Dylan Worlds with 12 and Racer Rashad Broadnax with 17.
In the 8- and under game, the Razorbacks defeated the Shockers 13-6 as Razorbacks Jerimiah Davis and Hasini Gray-Burke, and Shocker Alex Soden all scored 4 points.
The Wave defeated the Cowboys 20-7 as Tony Worlds Jr. led the way with 10 points. Clay Wells led the Cowboys with 4.
